The Board of Zoning Appeals consists of five (5) members appointed by Village Council, including one (1) member from the Planning Commission. In addition, the Village Council may appoint not more than two (2) alternate members for the same terms as regular members. Terms are three (3) years.
Officers of the Board are elected annually by members of the Board. Officers are Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and Secretary.
Zoning Board of Appeals membership is regulated by Section 601 of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, and by Section 18.04 of the Village of Lake Orion Zoning Code.
