This is a 1.54 acre park found along the banks of Paint Creek in Downtown Lake Orion. The property was acquired by quit claim deeds from the American Legion Post 233 and Mr. Oscar Letts for “$1.00 and other valuable consideration” on September 1, 1955.
Children’s Park is on the east side of Broadway south of Front Street. Paint Creek is a tributary of the Clinton River and runs through the park. There are two playgrounds, one for 2 to 5 year old, and another for 5 to 12 year olds. Also available are swings, picnic tables, park benches, and bike racks.
Children’s Park is also home to a gazebo, used for concerts in the park during the summer. The gazebo is available to rent for weddings and other events; applications for use should be submitted to the Village office.
Animals are not allowed in Children’s Park. Bicycles, roller skates and skate boards are not allowed.
